Partners and Supportive Organizations
"Individuals from many types of organizations have been most supportive of the HUB. This is not an endorsement from each group but a big 'thank you' for support, encouragement, referrals, and sharing ideas as to how we may best use sports for personal and community renewal." - Ian Robertson, the HUB Founder.

Hoopfest Spokane Hoopfest Association, a Washington nonprofit corporation, believes strongly in the values learned through participation in athletics. The need for additional indoor facilities for basketball usage has been well documented. Providing further opportunities for area residents to play sports is very appealing. We congratulate your team for compiling an operations and management plan to re-open the sports complex that will house the Valley HUB Regional Sports Center. Spokane AAU Basketball, a Spokane Hoopfest Program, looks forward to utilizing this outstanding facility for league and tournament play for many years. Plus, we welcome the opportunity to speak with you about other programs that could utilize this fun, exciting venue. Perhaps we could assist in the development of a long-term, community minded relationship to promote the values of physical fitness. Best of luck as you continue developing your strategic plan. Our community will enjoy the benefits of this facility for decades to come! Very truly yours, Rick Steltenpohl, Executive Director

Greater Spokane Incorporated Greater Spokane incorporated, formed through the integration of the Spokane Regional Chamber of Commerce and Spokane Regional Economic Development Council, fully supports the efforts being put forth to create and operate Valley HUB, a recreational facility for children and families of all ages. As an organization with a mission of accelerating regional economic prosperity, our membership includes over 1,500 local and regional businesses, including the County of Spokane and the Cities of Spokane, Spokane Valley, Liberty Lake, Cheney, Medical Lake and Airway Heights. We want to commend the vision and the action being undertaken by this ecumenical group of interchurch concerned citizens to create a new recreational facility as the home for Upward Basketball and many other types of activities that could include volleyball, a children's play area, batting cages, and possibly a skate park. It is a well-known fact that these types of recreational facilities are in great demand throughout the region by families, organized youth sporting leagues, and for regional tournament-type events. The managers of hotels and motels in the Spokane Valley have told us that bringing regional weekend tournament-type events to a facility such as this can produce $120,000 to $140,000 of income for them from participants, their friends and families who come from out-of-town. Having an organized recreational program of activities for the youth in a community has demonstrated itself over and over again to provide life lessons in team work and leadership, as well as reducing both minor and major crime-related actions, We congratulate and support the efforts you and others are putting forth to create the Valley HUB and provide positive youth activities. Sicerely, Richard G. Hadley President and Chief Executive Officer
