Spokane Valley Ministerial Association
Pastors' Monthly Lunch Meetings Ministerial Association Community Projects ValleyHUB welcomes volunteers and donated equipment Workshops for Pastors
Plans are underway for the 2008-2009 season as we continue on the theme: CONNECTING. As we serve the entire community, we want to make sure the association keeps good connections with leaders in all nine major spheres in society:
1. Spiritual/social -- churches, NGOs, service clubs 2. Government/politics -- city councils, planning commissions, police, courts 3. Homes/blocks -- neighborhood watch, SCOPE 4. Business/economy -- Chambers of Commerce, industrial chaplaincy, finance 5. Education -- school districts, colleges and universities, Christian schools 6. Health care -- hospitals, clinics, retirement homes, rest homes, care facilities 7. Media -- radio, TV, print media, internet, cableTV (Channel 14) 8. Culture/entertainment -- performing arts 9. Sports -- Valley HUB, sports teams and leagues
SVMA includes pastors, staff members, youth pastors, chaplains, and leaders of several para-church and community organizations all working together for the common good. The focus is ministry, not a particular doctrine, denomination, or worship style. We see our mission to serve God and our communities.
In addition to independent congregations, many denominational groups participate including Assemblies of God, Baptist, Christian, Community of Christ, Free Methodist, Lutheran, Messianic Synagogue, Nazarene, Orthodox Christian, Presbyterian, Real Life Ministries, Roman Catholic, Seventh Day Adventist, United Church of Christ, United Methodist, and Wesleyan.
Community groups that work closely with the association include Catholic Charities, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Interfaith Hospitality, Spokane Council of Ecumenical Ministries, Spokane Valley Partners (S.V. Community Center and Food Bank), Union Gospel Mission, Valley Christian School, Valley Meals-on-Wheels, and ValleyFest. We encourage all congregations to support these fine organizations with donations and volunteers.
